Efficient analysis thanks to new ANSYS plug-in

From now on, the interface between MDESIGN and the ANSYS plug-in FAST+MORE for the calculation of connection elements is available. This makes it possible to efficiently analyze constructions with often hundreds of bolts with FEM and to perform a detailed verification according to VDI 2230 or Eurocode 3 in MDESIGN.

Calculate large models with FEM

FAST+MORE is an ANSYS extension developed by 7tech GmbH, which is easily and quickly installed via the ACT console. It is fully integrated into the ANSYS interface and therefore requires no extra learning effort, the workflow is perfectly tailored to large models. FAST+MORE automatically recognizes the correct bolt dimension based on the existing holes and, depending on the user's preference, maps the bolts either as model class I (direct coupling of holes without bolt model), model class II (bolt as beam model) or model class III (bolt as solid model). Bolt preload and tightening torque including different tightening methods are provided from a database.

Plots and detailed results

FAST+MORE can display the results graphically on the model as well as generate tables. This way, the bolt with the lowest safety factor can be found quickly. In addition, a detailed report with all input and result variables can be displayed for any bolt.

Export to MDESIGN - ensures fast verification

At the click of a mouse, the results of the bolt are exported to MDESIGN. This often saves the time-consuming and error-prone manual transfer of internal forces and bolt data. In MDESIGN, you benefit from the additional, outstanding possibilities for safe verification calculations according to VDI 2230 or Eurocode 3. The automatic creation of the documentation - also multilingual - not only saves time, but also the required project times are met.
