Engineering Newcomer goes into the next round
Start of registration for the Engineering Newcomer 2021!
At MDESIGN, we consider the promotion of young talent to be an important task. Thus, we not only train internally, but also actively support projects such as the construction competition Engineering Newcomer, which offers young people in technical apprenticeships and studies an excellent platform to develop creative projects. As a sponsor, we are pleased to be part of the expert jury of the Engineering Newcomer 2021 construction competition again this year.
For the 8th time, students have the opportunity to participate in Engineering Newcomer, either in groups or as individuals. By submitting their project or final paper, they have the chance to demonstrate their skills and, together with their educational institutions, win attractive cash prizes worth a total of 7,000 euros. In addition to the cash prizes, the competition offers participants an attractive platform to present their projects to groups of experts, receive practice-relevant feedback from potential future employers and compete with their peers.
Participants have until July 31, 2021 to submit their practical or final theses. The work will be evaluated under various criteria. For example, innovation, technological benefit and market opportunities of the project work will be analyzed and evaluated. All information about the evaluation can be found in the application form for the Engineering Newcomer 2021.
Last year, students from the Berufskolleg für Technik und Medien in Mönchengladbach won the race. They took first place with their development of a lifting and swiveling device. Second and third place went to two teams from the Technikerschule München with a mobile forestry winch for safe tree felling and the design of a metal circular saw.
We are excited about this year's projects and look forward to awarding them – together with CADENAS GmbH, norelem Normelemente GmbH & Co. KG, the Bundesarbeitskreis Fachschule für Technik, TENADO GmbH and ZUKEN E3 GmbH.
We wish all participants good luck!
