Presentation of new evaluation possibilities in MDESIGN

From 21 - 22 November 2018, the 6th VDI conference on bolted joints takes place in Würzburg, Germany. About 150 experts from industry and from science and research inform themselves in more than 20 specialist lectures and an accompanying exhibition about trends and developments in design and calculation of bolted joints.

Dipl.-Ing. Jan Hebig, development engineer in the MDESIGN team, will be talking about the “Systematic calculation of single-bolted and multi-bolted joints between the system parameters”. He will present new possibilities for the consideration of tolerance fields of input parameters as well as the visualization of the resulting outcome. The presented methods will be available in the MDESIGN bolt calculation soon. In the future MDESIGN bolt offers you the possibility to enter and calculate value ranges instead of single values. This applies both for the temperatures and for the coefficients of friction. The possible state of tension can thus be captured in detail.

Furthermore, MDESIGN bolt will contain new visualization possibilities of all important results of the VDI 2230 bolt calculation within one diagram. Specifically, all results of the calculation above the tolerance field of the clamp load and the maximum bolt load will be visualized. This offers the user the possibility to evaluate his bolted joint faster and even more precise. And you can directly derive new optimization measures.
